The Sunshine Coast Grand-mothers and Grand-Others (SCG&G) will hold their first general meeting on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 2 p.m. in the Chatelech Secondary School library.
Inspired by the work of Stephen Lewis and the Stephen Lewis Foundation, the group formed in the summer of 2006 and held its first fundraiser, a book and CD sale, last fall to raise funds for the Foundation's Grandmothers to Grand-mothers campaign.
The Foundation is dedicated to "easing the pain of HIV/Aids in Africa." At the first meeting, a film will be shown that introduces four of these amazing grandmothers. To join the group, you don't have to be a grandmother; all are welcome to attend.
