Due to last night's windstorm, several areas in Gibsons are experiencing power outages.
According to Stephanie Murawsky, executive assistant to the superintendent/communications officer of Sunshine Coast School District 46, Cedar Grove Elementary, Gibsons Elementary, Langdale Elementary, Elphinstone Secondary, Sunshine Coast Alternative School in Gibsons and the School Board office are all without power.
Without further information from BC Hydro, crews not on site yet and the fact the outages are affecting electricity, heat, phones and internet, these schools will be closed today, Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Pender Harbour buses not running
Due to the windstorm and fallen trees in the Pender Harbour area, buses will not be running this morning for Pender Harbour Secondary and Madeira Park Elementary.
It’s hoped the buses will be running in time for the afternoon pick-up.
