Former Gibsons councillor Jeremy Valeriote is running for the B.C. Greens in West Vancouver-Sea to Sky, the riding currently held by Liberal Jordan Sturdy.
Valeriote, who served on Gibsons council from 2014 to 2018 and previously worked for the Sunshine Coast Regional District as a manager of sustainability services, said he decided to run as a green candidate for his six-year-old twin daughters.
“I am prepared to work as hard as I ever have to make sure that both the public health and the planet’s health are strong, safe and stable for my daughters to bring up their own kids and grandkids,” he said. “Now more than ever, we need to do politics in a kinder, more collaborative and inclusive way.”
