Fall Fair fast approaching

Thanksgiving is right around the corner. And that means it's also time for the Gibsons Fall Fair.

The sixth annual Fall Fair is slated for Oct. 7 and 8 in Gibsons.

If you are a crafter and want to be a part of the fun, be forewarned - space is filling up fast. More than half the tables are spoken for, so if you were thinking of participating, act fast. Visit www.gibsonsfallfair.org to pick up your registration forms and posters for advertising.

Organizers are also looking forward to the creative gardening and scarecrow displays. If you are a gardener, feel free to phone to see what categories are available for your special entry. The Fall Fair caters to kids, so don't leave them out of the competitions.

Local schools are encouraged to participate. Why not challenge another school in the scarecrow-making contest?

If you are an entertainer and would like some time to showcase your talent, please contact us.

"Come out and support this local event that sends all its proceeds back into the community to local charities," said organizer Jill-Marie Jarvis. "To date more than $9,000 has been donated to our community. Start your Christmas shopping early. Pick up a fresh pie for your Thanksgiving dinner. Bring your company! From fortune telling and face painting, to beautiful quilting displays, there is something for everyone.

"Grab a burger from the Lion's Club, and a raffle ticket or fresh baking from St. Mary's Auxiliary and help Back the CAT.

"Once again, Dave and Betty Wells have generously donated the big greenhouse at Quality Farm & Garden for a lovely venue. Rain or shine, hope to see you there."
