The section of Fairway Avenue in West Porpoise Bay has been closed.
The closure is the result of a collapsed culvert near the section of Fairway Avenue just before the intersection with Beacon Street, near the duck pond.
Traffic is being rerouted to a nearby detour, Ripple Way, to Gale Avenue South to Beacon Street, which can be used in either direction.
The District of Sechelt is expecting the section of road to be closed until at least Monday, when crews will be able to carry out a complete assessment.
