Local members of the Spirit of B.C. community committee are ecstatic with the news their "welcome the world" video proposal has been chosen over all others in the province.According to Sandra Cunningham, who helped put the video together on short notice last May, the successful proposal is an example of what can be done when "passionate people get involved."The storyline the group used for their video example featured an RCMP member in red serge bringing an unlit torch to a beach fire. He then passed the lit torch to a little girl. The girl walked the torch to the water where it was passed to a canoe full of paddlers. The canoes then headed off into waters unknown. Then a group of children floated candle lanterns they had prepared earlier as an invitation to the world's athletes to come and participate in the 2010 Olympics.CTV will be coming to the Coast soon to shoot a professional version of the video that will be shown worldwide.
