Gibsons resident Betty Robertson was happy when she discovered a Canucks Scratch and Win ticket in her Christmas stocking. She was over the moon when she realized she had won the grand prize of $100,000.

At 71 years old, Betty is a long-time Vancouver Canucks fan whose favourite player is centre Trevor Linden, although she admits, "I like them all." She plans to use part of her substantial winnings to buy her husband a shiny new truck.

The $10 Canucks Scratch and Win tickets have been very popular since they were launched in September 2005.

"All the tickets for this game are now out at our retailers," said Janice Gray, Scratch and Win brand manager. "But there are plenty of great prizes still to be won."

Prizes include lower bowl tickets to Vancouver Canucks home games, replica jerseys, autographed hockey sticks and cash prizes. The collectible tickets feature photos of six of the favourite players, including Linden, Ed Jovanoski, Todd Bertuzzi, Brendan Morrison, Dan Cloutier and Markus Naslund.

British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) is the provincial Crown mandated to conduct and manage lottery gaming in the province. Revenues derived from the Canuck's Scratch and Win ticket will combine with revenues from BCLC's lottery, bingo and casino gaming to benefit all British Columbians.

Last fiscal year, $819 million in net income was returned through government programs for health, education, social, community, charitable and municipal purposes.
