Sunshine Coast Capilano College is offering a variety of camps for kids and youth through their continuing education program this summer.

Whether you're interested in the environment, leadership, kayaking, acting, building or fashion, there's a course for you.From July 11 to 15, the college will host an Environmental Leadership and Ocean Kayaking course for youth aged 14 to 17. Outdoor recreation educators Caroline D patie and Jamie Mani are teaching this course. D patie will work with students on environmental leadership projects in the morning. Afternoons will be spent on the water with Mani.

This camp is for students who are curious about environmental stewardship, who want to develop leadership skills and who are interested in ocean kayaking.

From July 18 to 22, kids aged seven to 17 can learn all about acting with teacher Angell Anderson, who has worked internationally as an actor, make-up artist, image consultant and acting instructor.

This camp is for students curious about acting as a hobby or possibly as a career.

If you're a girl between the ages of 13 and 17 and want to learn how to build a table, come to the Girls With Hammers course running July 25 to 29.

Instructor Gwen Williams has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years. She is the recipient of the Outstanding Woman In Construction award. This camp is for students curious about the different roles women play in the trade industry and for those interested in designing and building a small table with a tile tabletop.

The final camp being offered by Capilano College is Fashion Design and Illustration for ages 13 to 17 from Aug. 8 to 12.This camp introduces students to the fashion industry with instructor Jerry McBride who has been teaching fashion and design illustration for over 20 years.

The Fashion and Illustration camp is for students who are curious about the fashion industry, sketching from a live model and working with hands-on projects.
