Producer Nick Orchard is looking for children and adults to play roles in his upcoming film The New Beachcombers Christmas. The film will be shot in and around Gibsons between July 16 and August 13.
Orchard is specifically calling for children between the ages of eight and 12 to come to an open casting call on July 7 at the Gibsons Curling Rink starting at 6 p.m.
"We require two boys and a girl between the ages of eight and 12 for a Christmas pageant. The boys will have quite a bit of dialogue while the girl will have a couple of lines. We will also choose some additional children who will bid at an auction," said Orchard.
The scene Orchard refers to should take one to two days to shoot and children should be available for the entire time.
"Children hired will be paid a minimum fee of $361.62," said Orchard.
Casting director Stuart Aikins will be meeting with children at the casting call and asking them to read for him. Children are asked to bring a school photo or candid shot to leave with the casting director.
Orchard said other would-be stars should also come to the casting call on July 7.
"Any actors and actresses should feel free to drop by the same open call with a resume and photo to meet Mr. Aikins. Anyone with experience will be considered for other small roles if they are right for the part," Orchard said.
