BC Ferries has once again announced a schedule alteration for sailings serving the Sunshine Coast this season.
Changes will come into effect on Friday, May 27, for the Earls Cove-Saltery Bay route between Sechelt and Powell River and Route 3 between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale terminals.
A May 25 service notice from the company says the changes are "To address the on-time performance concerns on the Horseshoe Bay – Langdale route..." and that an update schedule will be available shortly at bcferries.com.
Until then, the highlights include shifting sailing times on Route 3 to allow more time between sailings. Sailings from Horseshoe Bay will be offered at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays until June 23 (after which they will only be offered at 5:30 p.m. for Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays). Also coming on Sundays, until June 23, will be a 2:15 p.m. sailing from Langdale "to help those returning to Horseshoe Bay after the weekend."
The summer schedule for Earls Cove-Saltery Bay will come into effect starting Friday, May 27, "to ensure those using both routes are better able to make their connections."
"Customers with bookings on the impacted sailings will be contacted by our team to advise of their revised sailing time," BC Ferries's statement said. "We apologize for any inconvenience these service revisions may cause you and appreciate your ongoing patience."
