The Sunshine Coast can expect even more rain this weekend.
Environment Canada has issued another special weather alert for the Sunshine Coast area for the evening of Saturday, Nov. 27.
While Friday may see a break from the rain – providing a good opportunity for homeowners to check culverts for any blockages – between 50 to 80 millimetres are expected between Saturday morning and Sunday evening.
The heaviest rain is predicted to start Saturday night as the storm front nears.
Other areas of south coast B.C. are expected to receive rain on those days, including Richmond, Abbotsford and Squamish. Those areas may see between 50 to 120 millimetres of rain.
The storm will also bring warmer temperatures with it that could melt snow in higher elevations, causing runoff and an increased risk of flooding.
