On Feb. 12, cadets from 858 Skookumchuck Squadron travelled to the Lower Main-land to participate in the Canadian cadet movement marksmanship series stage two zone competition.

Winners of the eight zones in B.C. are invited to the provincial competition on April 1 in Comox.

The 858 team faced 10 experienced army, sea and air cadet range teams from the Lower Mainland zone and came in third.

This is the first time Skookumchuck Squadron has sent a team to the zone competition. They are very proud of their third place standing, considering the talent and quality of the teams competing.

The team would like to thank civilian instructor Lewis Cocker for his invaluable assistance as their range safety officer and coach and look forward to more success as their experience and skills continue to improve.
