Twenty members of 2963 Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Army Cadet Corps will parade in an annual review ceremony on Saturday, June 5.
Static displays will show the cadets' involvement in canoeing, camping, outdoor survival, the 125th anniversary of the army cadets and general cadet training.
In addition to the reviewing officer, the inspecting party will include MLA Harold Long, Sechelt Mayor Cam Reid, SCRD chair Ed Steeves, Keith Freer of the Army Cadet League of Canada and president of the local sponsor, Legion branch #140, Kay Metcalfe.
The annual review completes the local training or 2963 Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Army Cadet Corps. The public is invited to view the ceremony at Sechelt Legion. Please be seated by 12:45 p.m.
The aim of the cadet organization is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship, promote physical fitness and stimulate an interest n the activities of the Canadian Forces. Young people 12 to 18 years of age may enroll in cadets. The new training year will commence Sept. 7, 2004, at the Sechelt Legion, 123 Wharf Street. Army cadets are sponsored by the Army League of Canada and supported in partnership by the Canadian Forces and the Sechelt Legion branch #140.
