Kisses & kicks: Kicks to rude patron, kisses for helping aged greyhound

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kisses and kicks for the week of February 28!

A plow full of hugs to the contractor who cleared the driveway of snow and ice (Parkway Drive) into Chapman Creek Hatchery and the Sunshine Coast Rod and Gun Club. You put a lot of minds at ease. Thank you.

A mountain full of kisses to everyone who has supported and donated to the GDVFD Climb the Wall team. All of your donations will help the BC Lung Foundation and we are all so grateful for your encouragement and support. We will make you proud March 2. LOVE THIS COMMUNITY!

Kisses galore to Alex at Kenmac for his incredible help to a senior.

Big hugs and kisses to the man who paid for my groceries Monday, Feb. 17 at the Gibsons IGA. My debit card was repeatedly rejected even though it had been accepted elsewhere 20 minutes earlier. Your kindness and generosity is so appreciated!

Bewildered kicks to the exceptionally rude patron at the [Molly's Reach] Black Bean opening day for berating the owner about the long line-up.

Kisses to David, Black Bean owner for being so gracious under fire and for bringing The Bean to Molly’s: a perfect pairing for the community.

A huge kiss from a grateful dog owner to the kind man who helped get my aged greyhound in the car on the 9:45 a.m. ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale on Feb. 20 –– you were so gentle and calm and your assistance was so much appreciated by both of us!

Kisses to the Rotary Club of Sechelt for the wonderful handwritten and treat-filled thank you cards hand-delivered to all health care workers across the Sunshine Coast. You made our days!

Kicks and kisses at the same time? Last week’s column had five submissions regarding dogs: two kisses for returning lost/wandering dogs and three kicks for not picking up waste. Unless you are in an off-leash park, your dog must be on a leash or under your control at all time, and picking up your pet’s waste is a given.

Kisses to the honest person who found my dropped wallet and turned it into the drugstore. Sechelt is a wonderful small town.

The Gibsons Garden Club wants to send bouquets of kisses to everyone who came to our event fundraiser Feb. 22 at the Heritage Playhouse. Special kisses to B and K Gardens and Rainflorist for selling tickets for us. It was an outstanding success.

Kicks to the man in the blue truck who shouted obscenities  at older folks in the car park of Greenecourt. Shame on you.

Email your Kisses and Kicks to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is 1 p.m. every Tuesday for a given week.

Coast Reporter will run kisses and kicks entries as space permits on a first-received, first-published basis.

Submissions must be accompanied by a name and phone number for confirmation by the editor. Names will not be printed in the column unless requested by the writer, for kisses only.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
