The Sunshine Coast Arts Council handed out its 31st annual Young Artists Awards Saturday, Dec. 14. Among the Judges’ Choice Award recipients was Althea Hume, 13, for her work in markers called Apricots and Cyanide. Althea said she was inspired by the curious conflict in the fact that inside the pit of this “joyful, colourful fruit” there is a poison.
