Whether it was because Coast artists like a challenge or because they were inspired by Jane Urquhart’s book A Number of Things, the 50 exhibits currently at the Arts Centre have produced one of the best shows yet, 50 Canadian Things.
Everyone has upped their game – the 50 artists chosen by curator Ian MacLeod each used a story from the book as a starting point for paint, sculpture, video, wood, metal and fabric artworks.
Pictured is Sandy Kay standing under her wood and paint piece titled Whale Bucket.
The show runs until Aug. 20.
