A special concert and fund-raising evening to help orphans, nomads and poor children of all ages in Tibet will be held on Saturday, Jan.10, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Heritage Playhouse in Gibsons. The unique evening was organized spontaneously to take advantage of a Coast visit from several Tibetan monks: Ven. Khenpo Jukme Trinley and Ven. Karma Jorme. The latter is a healer who has completed a ten-year retreat on healing techniques originating from the Indian master Patampa Sangye, a scholar, yogi and friend of Milarepa. The monks will do Chod practice for peace and healing of the environment. The program includes a slide show of Zasep Didila's most recent trip to Tibet and music from Al Ramoes and the flute and percussion duo of BC, Barry Taylor and Chris Bernetchez. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Suggested donation is $10 at the door.
