This year's Spring Into Dance will take place April 7 and 8 at the Heritage Playhouse in Gibsons. Shows are at 8 p.m. on Friday and 2 and 8 on Saturday.
Spring Into Dance aims to promote and celebrate contemporary dance on the Sunshine Coast. As well it offers performing opportunities to local dancers of various ages and experience.
The show will feature local dance group Coast Contem-porary Dancers performing two works by artistic director Sylvain Brochu and a new creation by guest choreographer Alison Denham. Many guests, all from Vancouver, will complete the program: Denham herself performing a brand new solo, Ann Cooper performing two solos and Startdance, a recreational dance ensemble, performing pieces by Cooper and artistic director Desiree Dunbar. As usual it promises to be a very exciting program that is sure to entertain and move the audience. Tickets are $12 in advance, available in Sechelt at Talewind Books and in Gibsons at Coast Books, and $15 at the door.
