Nichols is Soundwaves Chorus' special guest in this S.C. Music Society presentation. Joe Hatherill directs the chorus in a mix of jazz, folk and popular stylings. He hosts a musical afternoon that includes the baroque, a harpsichord and Palestrina.

The Renaissance Singers start the musical banquet at 2:30 p.m. with Palestrina. They also sing Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus for his 250th birthday. Nichols' selections include "When I am Laid in Earth" from Purcell's Dido and Aeneas. She also sings "Che faro senza Euridice" from Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice and arias by Handel and others.

Patricia Greenfield will accompany Nichols on harpsichord. This gorgeous instrument is being used publicly for the first time.

Tickets cost $15 ($10 for students and seniors) at Coast Books, Gibsons, Miss Sunny's in Pender Harbour and Talewind Books in Sechelt.
