On Oct. 28, Mud Dog brings its sizzlin' hot Mississippi Delta blues to the Sunshine Coast once again. This is blues full of energy; it's fun, it's alive, it will send you into a dancing frenzy.

A regular at The Yale, Mud Dog plays blues originals like "Train," "Three Good Reasons" and "Gastown Blues," plus old and new classic tunes from Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Steve Sainas, Mud Dog's creator, has built an audience across the Lower Mainland with his powerful and original take on blues classics. Sainas, singer/songwriter/guitarist, formed Mud Dog to pay tribute to blues masters such as Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf and John Lee Hooker, but his originals are the best.

Christopher Allen, who has performed and recorded with Ronnie Hawkins, Tina Turner and David Foster, joins Sainas on harmonica and vocals. The pounding heartbeat is provided by Randy Adams on drums and vocals and Rodney Koke on bass and vocals. Dave Webb on organ and piano enriches the sound.

Come out to this Halloween howl at the Roberts Creek Hall on Saturday, Oct. 28, and give your support to the Elphinstone Cougars girls' volleyball team. This fundraiser starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15, available at WindSong Gallery, Coast Books and the Roberts Creek Health Food Store.
