Going rogue all weekend

Rogue Arts Festival

The band Spouse led off an array of local and visiting musicians on Saturday.

The jazzy sounds of Funktete opened the music on the main stage for the Rogue Arts Festival on Friday, Aug. 24 while artists crowded the Rogue Gallery tent to show their work. Visitors painted postcards, henna painted their hands, bought fudge, viewed the artwork in the children’s tent curated by artisan Tessa Rand or sampled perogies or soft tacos from the food vendors. There was solid attendance for Friday evening but Saturday’s audience didn’t materialize until later in the day after the rain. “Once people come, they love it,” said Arwen MacDonald, Rogue Fest’s artistic director. “The feedback is always really positive and I think that people really appreciate the diversity of the programming.” See more photos from Rogue Fest in our online galleries at www.coastreporter.net/photos-videos
