The Sunshine Coast Film Society is excited to announce that the next two films in their dynamic and inspiring spring series will be screened in Sechelt at the Sunshine Coast Arts Center.
On March 16 the first Sechelt film is the Queen of the Gypsies: a Portrait of Carmen Amaya, a comprehensive portrait of the woman who brought Flamenco Puro to the international stage and Hollywood stardom. It is a must see for dance and guitar lovers.
Dedicated to the flamenco community, this well-crafted portrait includes copious electrifying archival footage of Amaya's performances accompanied by the music of the great guitarist Sabicas. Be prepared to move and be moved.
On March 30, again in Sechelt at the Arts Center, Adriane Carr will introduce the visually stunning Australian film Wildness, a picture-perfect film, uncannily in tune with our own experience here on the Coast. This is a great opportunity for Sechelt residents to experience the exiting offerings of the Sunshine Coast Film Society in their own backyard.
