The Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives is searching for the mystery donor who last week deposited a black-and-white photograph at the facility. According to hand-printed text on the panoramic image, it depicts a crowd of families at the BC Lumber Survey Lumbermen’s Picnic in Sechelt on Aug. 16, 1941.

According to manager-curator Matthew Lovegrove, the museum discourages anonymous donations because documentation of an artifact’s origin is part of the museum’s collection protocol. The altruistic history buff should contact museum staff via its website at sunshinecoastmuseum.ca. – Michael Gurney
