The Sounds of Howe Sound

West Howe Sound

The Synchronicity Festival is coming on Aug. 22 to 24, and this year’s festival offers more live music, workshops, food and art than in previous years.

Evening performances on the main stage feature music from Roots Roundup, The Hounds of Buskerville and Queer as Funk. See the website for more details at http://www.synchronicityfestival.ca/.

Tickets will be sold on site only except when you purchase a ticket to the Thursday night gala party. A ticket to the gala includes party food and drinks plus a festival pass for the weekend and admission to the Rainforest Circus. Gala tickets can be purchased in advance at: syncfestgala2014.eventbrite.ca.

The Gibsons Public Art Gallery will sponsor a group exhibition entitled Our Forest from Aug. 21 to Sept. 15, with the opening reception on Aug. 23, from 4 to 6 p.m.  The gallery is located at 431 Marine Drive in Lower Gibsons.

This show brings together some of the most recognized artists and artisans on the Sunshine Coast who work in a variety of mediums, styles and themes and the exhibition promises a range of interpretations that will both celebrate and provoke discussion around the forest that surrounds and sustains us.
