The Roving Artists are roving for new members.
They're a group of visual artists who meet every other Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to share skills and give each other feedback. Members work mainly with acrylics, water colours and oils. There's a membership fee, which covers the cost of renting Eric Cardinall Hall at Shirley Macey Park.

Langdale Elementary School is a literate place to be this month.
Students from Kindergarten to Grade four are participating in a reading buddy program with high school students from Elphinstone Secondary School.
Every Monday after school, 15 readers are bussed up to the high school where they pair up with volunteer reading buddies in grades 9 and 10. They meet in the library and also enjoy nutritious snacks prepared by students in Elphi's culinary arts program.
Langdale principal Gregory Walters also extends an invitation to members in the Howe Sound community to volunteer as a reading buddy. It's an opportunity to help a youngster practice reading and gain confidence.
Contact the school at 604-886-9971 for details.
The parent advisory council from Langdale Elementary School is hosting a book fair fundraiser in the library, starting at 2:35 p.m. on March 12 and 13. Community members are encouraged to attend and peruse the selection of popular children's titles from Scholastic Press. Proceeds go to support the library.
If you'd like me to mention your event, please email the details to [email protected] or phone, 604-886-0415. This column is published every other week throughout the year.
