Every year at about this time it happens. As the weather changes and whispers of winter are in the air, so too curlers come out from hiding. And even on sports television, all of a sudden there are curling games to watch. That’s when folks are heard to say that they used to curl, or that they’d like to maybe try curling. And they wonder if there’s a way to perhaps learn and play the game at the local level.

Well, the Gibsons Curling Club holds the answer to all those questions. The curling ice is in, the Gibsons Curling Club is polished up and ready, and they have something that’ll fit your needs. If you want to learn to curl, we provide curling lessons. If it’s a league you want to join, we’ve got you covered there. Or, perhaps you’d like to book a day for a family curling experience or even a business gathering that includes the fun of curling. Young and old, it doesn’t matter, the Gibsons Curling Club can offer you whatever it takes to make your curling experience happen.

If you’re a first-timer we’ll even supply the brooms, footwear and experienced, qualified teachers to help you launch into the game you can play for the rest of your days.

The Curling Club is particularly excited this year to offer curling for children. We’ve had special circles put into the ice. These circles allow children to learn and play the game with the playing surface being much shorter, thus accommodating the younger curler being able to slide the rocks in the shorter playing surface.

There are those too, who know of our game only through watching a bit of it in the Olympics. Now’s your chance to come and see for yourself. Our club is open to anyone coming in to watch and learn. Chances are there’ll be someone there to help explain the rules and nuances of the game for you.

Curling has been for, well over a hundred years, one of Canada’s traditional winter pastimes. If you haven’t personally felt the energy of the game yet, come on in and see for yourself. If nothing else, come on in and see what all the yelling’s about.
