The Army Cadet League of Canada (ACLC), British Columbia Branch’s president Christine Alexander was presented with the prestigious King Charles III medal this past December. The presentation of the medal was by ACLC president Ms. Cathy Bach.
In May 2023, to mark the coronation of King Charles III, the Canadian Prime Minister announced the government’s intention to award Canadians who have made a significant contribution to the country. Christine’s award is a testament to her outstanding service and dedication.
Christine’s volunteer service with the ACLC BC branch, which began in 2011, has been nothing short of extensive and impactful. She started by assisting the 2812 Royal Canadian Army Corps Support Committee and has since then made significant contributions. In 2020, she became a member of the BC Branch executive board and served as a branch vice-president. In 2024, she assumed the role of branch president, and national drector to the ACLC.
In addition to her involvement with the ACLC, Christine has volunteered with various organizations, including the Pender Harbour Reading Center Society, Harbour Authority of Pender Harbour, Emergency Support Services Volunteer with the Sunshine Coast, Rotary Club of Pender Harbour, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 112, and the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station 61 Society. She is known for her effectiveness at the corps, community, and executive levels concerning the cadet program and league responsibilities.
Christine’s unwavering dedication to the Army Cadet Program has left a significant impact. Her embodiment of the mission, vision, and aim of the ACLC, along with her positive influence on the community and volunteers within the BC Branch, is truly inspiring. Her skills, knowledge, and willingness to help others have made her a deserving recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
