Eleven of the awesome Sunshine Coast Skating Club members attended the 2025 WinterSkate/BC Coast Regional Competition Jan. 30 to Feb. 2, bringing home five gold and four silver!
More than 1,000 skating participants, varying in age from seven years old to adult, from all over the Lower Mainland, B.C. Coast Region compete at this yearly event. The BC Coast Region includes skating clubs from Chilliwack and Hope in the east, Langley and Delta in the south, Whistler and Squamish to the north and the numerous skating clubs in between.
Results as follows: Assessments Star 1: Avery Jansen gold, Simone Wadge gold, Isla Burton gold. Star 2: Jordan McKinnon silver. Star 3: Ava Turner silver, Alta O’Farrell gold, Amelia Nanson silver. Star 4 ranking: U13 Keira Squires winner first place/gold medal. Star 5: Alexa Kovski fourth place. Star 6: Brielle Avila second place/silver medal, Halle McHeffey 13th place. Star 7: Brielle Avila 12th place.

SCSC skaters’ next competition will be the BC/YT Super Series Final in Kelowna (Feb 27 to March 2), where we will send a small group of motivated skaters to have their quality and talents tested against the best in B.C.
