Community Futures Development Corporation of the Sunshine Coast (CFDC-SC) is launching a Coast Catalyst Business Accelerator Program, an initiative designed to empower entrepreneurs on the Sunshine Coast to develop, refine, and scale their businesses.

Building on the foundation of Community Futures’ LEAP! program, which ran from 2019 to 2023, Coast Catalyst offers an eight-week hybrid experience featuring personalized mentorship, hands-on workshops, and peer collaboration. Using the Business Model Canvas framework, participants will refine business strategies, develop financial literacy, and enhance branding and pitching skills. By the end of the program, they will have a launch-ready business plan and the confidence to secure funding and customers.

“Coast Catalyst is more than a business accelerator — it’s a community-driven initiative to fuel local entrepreneurship,” says Yarrow Drtina, Community Business Advisor, CFDC-SC. “This program will provide the guidance and tools needed to navigate the challenges of starting and scaling a business, ensuring long-term success.”

Applications are now open and will close on Feb. 20. Selected participants will be notified on Feb. 28, with the first session beginning on March 20 and running through to May 8. The program will conclude with a Pitch Event on May 22.
