SPCA holds fundraising event

Lock-In for Love
SPCA

The Sunshine Coast branch of the BC SPCA held a Lock-in For Love event at their headquarters in Wilson Creek. The inaugural event involved locking participants into its kennels with dogs up for adoption, and they aren’t released until they raise their fundraising goals. It took manager Marika Donnelly and border collie-husky cross Betsy three hours to raise their goal of $700. The event surpassed its aim to raise $3,000. Proceeds stay at the Sunshine Coast branch. Four participants were locked up at the SPCA, one went behind bars at the Eagle Ridge Veterinary Hospital in Gibsons and other inmates were jailed at Persephone Brewing.
