The speaker at the Sunshine Coast Quilters’ Guild April 20 meeting was Karlie McChesney from Chilliwack. This speaker has exhibited her work locally, across B.C., Canada and the U.S. Karlie started out as a draftsperson and then went back to school to get her BEd and MEd in Studio Art Practices. She has always been interested in math and it shows in her work. After a 30-year teaching career, she is focusing on her arts. The members were “blown away” by the imagination, quality and workmanship of Karlie’s work. She works in many mediums besides quilts.
