Sechelt Garden Club members are getting ready for the annual plant sale set for Saturday, May 10 at the Seaside Centre in Sechelt.

Spring is finally here — and so is the annual Sechelt Garden Club plant sale set for Saturday, May 10, at the Seaside Centre in Sechelt. The sale runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is the perfect place to get that special Mother’s Day gift.

The sale has become so much of a Coast tradition that every year people arrive early and often line up so they won’t miss any of the bargains that are offered.

Sechelt Garden Club members have been busy digging up, dividing, propagating and potting plants. There are almost twice as many good quality plants as last year and many more varieties.

There are plants to suit all styles of gardens, from small balcony containers to large wilderness properties, from well established to newly created gardens. A diverse selection of perennials, annuals, succulents, flowering shrubs, grasses, ferns and familiar favourites like phlox and cranesbill will be available for you to choose just what you would like. Some plants are for shade; others are drought resistant and enjoy sunshine.

Discover different types of foliage, texture and colours. Check out our bird houses, mason bees and used tools.

Don’t know what to buy, where to plant and how to take care of your purchases? Our experienced gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and to help you with your selections. Once again Grandma June will provide activities for the kids — creating a miniature garden, sowing some seeds, potting up a plant and beginning what hopefully will become a life-long activity — digging in the soil.
