Photos: Emergency preparedness is no picnic (or is it?)

On a very warm Saturday afternoon, more than 60 people attended an Emergency Preparedness Picnic in the Park event. People gathered to learn how to prepare their households and start to organize neighbourhood groupings – Neighbours Helping Neighbours – in the event of an emergency. This event was possible from a grant received from Neighbourhood Small Grants (NSG).  Their basic premise is that magic happens when neighbours connect. It forms friendships, and makes our communities safer and more vibrant. July 6 was a good start on that road for West Sechelt residents! If you want more information on how to set up your own neighbourhood emergency plan, contact your local community association or [email protected].
