Pender Harbour firefighters honoured

On Wednesday, Oct. 3, postal workers of the Madeira Park post office surprised members of Pender Harbour Fire Hall 1 with a thank you plaque from Canada Post on behalf of the community and visitors. Canada Post released a five-stamp set to honour emergency responders across Canada, such as “the wonderful group of men and women volunteers we have here in Madeira Park,” said postmaster Erin McKibbon (pictured, left) with Deputy Fire Chief William ‘Black Bill’ Gilkes and Barb Loften, Canada Post assistant.
