The Pender Harbour Women’s Connection has an exciting change of format for their March 11 get-together with a hands-on offering. The gathering will delve into the practice of primitive rug hooking. For more than 150 years, Canadians have been hooking rugs, a craft that grew out of the necessity of keeping homes warm. The tradition has grown into an art form with as many unique styles as there are artists. Guest speaker Lory Reynolds has devoted years developing the skills of this fine art. She will provide history and a demonstration, leading up to the hands-on workshop. Learn the one stitch that may lead you to a whole new world of art. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. at the School of Music. Presentations at 10 a.m. $4 drop-in fee. Refreshments provided.
