On February 28th, Peter collapsed suddenly at home, suitcase in hand, stepping out the door en route to a vacation in Maui - one more trip among many.

Peter's long and multifaceted career in furniture marketing and design spanned residential and commercial interiors to manufacturing, taking him around the world from Italy and Spain, to China, Jamaica, Thailand and India. Along the way, he created new industries, re-interpreted ancient techniques in contemporary designs, founded furniture factories, and saw his work featured in leading home design magazines.

A gifted athlete, Peter proudly wore his NCAA championship ring earned as a defenceman on the University of North Dakota's1959 winning hockey team. In 2002, he and his team were inducted into UND's Hockey Hall of Fame as the university's first NCAA champions - a special moment he shared with son Jaye by his side. A member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. During his high school years in Red Deer, Alberta, Peter played football and baseball as well as hockey. As a pitcher with a wicked curveball, he was signed by the Cleveland Indians' farm team.

Peter was devoted to his family: his wife Mary Lou (Boyd), son Jaye (Stefanie) and daughter Shana (Hardy). He was beloved "Bumpa" to his grandchildren Force, Hadley, Madison, Cian, Alyssa, Erin, Monacco and great-grandaughter Sutton. Shana became Peter's design and production manager, and together with Hardy, they travelled globally, sharing the creative process.

Peter was born in Calgary, Alberta. In Victoria, he helped establish the fine furniture department at Standard Furniture, a trade showroom in Vancouver, furniture collections in Toronto, and a global consultancy in West Vancouver. In 2019, he semi-retired with Mary Lou to Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast.
