March 17, 1942 – February 7, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia (Pat) Comeau at Silverstone Care Centre in Sechelt on the morning of February 7, 2025. Born in Powell River on March 17, 1942, Pat moved with her family to Roberts Creek as a young child. She always spoke fondly of the vibrant and tight-knit Roberts Creek community and the simple joys of living near the beach. At just 15 years old, while in Gibsons, Pat met the love of her life, Charlie Comeau. Their connection grew into a lifelong partnership, and they went on to share 64 wonderful years of marriage. They welcomed their first son, Keith, in 1959, followed by Bradly in 1962 and Rene in 1964. Together, Pat and Charlie raised their family in Gibsons for 12 years before moving to Quesnel, where they spent three decades creating cherished memories. In 2002, they returned to the Sunshine Coast, settling in Sechelt. Pat’s greatest joy was creating a warm, welcoming home filled with love, laughter, and the aroma of her incredible homecooked meals. Her legendary dinner parties were unforgettable, and her door was always open to friends and family alike. No guest ever left hungry or without feeling truly welcomed. Her love for entertaining and surrounding herself with family and friends made her home a place of joy and connection. Pat also loved kayaking, often embarking on multi-day trips along the Sechelt Inlet and Nelson Island. After moving to Quesnel, she discovered a love for skiing, a passion she carried throughout her life, exploring many of BC's ski hills with Charlie and other family and friends. Pat and Charlie also shared many adventures on cruises. Pat was predeceased by her eldest son, Keith Comeau (Wendy, Tanya, Erin). Pat also sadly leaves behind her devoted husband, Charlie, her sons Bradly (Louise, Samantha, Amber, Jamie) and Rene (Keith Jr., Sharleigh, Winter, Halie), as well as many other family members who will carry her memory with love and pride. Pat’s legacy of love, hospitality, and adventure will forever be cherished by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Pat’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and care aides at Silverstone for the compassionate care they provided, and to Pat’s longtime friend, Pat Muryn, for her unwavering weekly support and devoted care.
A celebration of life will be held on April 19th, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden.
