November 4, 1957 - December 5, 2024
Leslie Lorraine Drake passed away peacefully after a very short battle with cancer. Grieving their loss are her husband, Kerry; their three children, Michael (Alisa), Kendall (Adam), and Cameron; her siblings, Jim, Stephen (Sheralee) and Jennifer; her father, Leslie Virag; nephews, Greg (Sali) and Jaden; and beloved grandchildren, Jasmine and Jonah. She was predeceased by her mother, Trudy Virag.
Leslie was a woman of warmth, grace and integrity, a born caretaker who loved her family and friends with all her heart. Typical of her concern for others, even in the last few days of her life, she was not afraid to die, only to no longer be able to take care of her family. Her faith in her God remained unshakeable, and she placed her hope in His promise of a resurrection.
For 27 years, Leslie and Kerry served the community doing tax preparation through their company, Eagle Accounting. Many clients became friends - Leslie couldn't help it. In fact, it was almost impossible to know her and not leave feeling like she was in your corner. For seniors and others with limited income, tax returns were often filed at no charge. After an exhausting tax season, she and Kerry would slip away to Mexico to quietly recharge their batteries. You might have seen Leslie walking the esplanade alone or with friends.
A memorial service will be held on December 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 805 North Road, Gibsons, BC. All who knew and loved Leslie are welcome to attend.
