Sadly, we announce the passing of Leslie Leighton, a kind, gentle, and devout man who was very much loved by his family and friends. He never married but he enjoyed a deep love for his friends and family. Les also had an abiding faith in God and a great appreciation for God’s creation. Some of his special joys were in photographing and videoing sea creatures under the water as well as varieties of birds on the local beaches. But much of Les’ sense of purpose and fulfillment was found in serving God along with his church family, and also by helping his neighbours. Les spent most of his working career in shipping and receiving at Canpar Express in Burnaby. Les leaves behind his brother Jack (Kim) and their children: Chris (Norah), Emily, Barbara, and Carrie, and his brother Bruce (Rosanna) and their children: Christina (Steve) and David (Stephanie). There are also eight great nephews and great nieces: Levi, Arianna, Micah, Sam, Kayleigh, Colin, Etta and Evie. Les himself has now gone on to experience the promise of heaven provided through his faith in Jesus Christ. A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Crossroads Community Church, 5116 Davis Bay Road. In memorium, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Society.
