Sad to announce the passing of Debby Ashby, born October 27, 1953 to September 12, 2024.

Debby was born in Florida, into an Air Force family, lived in California, Alaska, Germany, Gibsons and Madeira Park. She is predeceased by her parents, Pat and Chuck Ashby, brother Rob Ashby, and grandmother, Cloe Day. Survived by three cousins living in BC, two on the Coast, many in the US and two nephews. Deb loved adventures, music, playing, scrabble, and thrift store shopping. She worked as a cook on an Alaskan freighter chef on private boats in California, auto body work, dental assistant, and lastly, caretaker of her beloved grandmother. Debby also struggled with alcoholism. Thanks to the many who have reached out to Debby, and special thanks to Doug and Lisa Borden who went above and beyond in their support and love for Deb. Debby battled bravely with her fight with cancer. Many thanks to St. Mary staff for their care. No services to be held at this time This feisty girl is finally at peace.
