October 3, 1928 - December 27, 2022
Strong, supportive, kind, proud, funny, and so loving. This is Dad's legacy to his five daughters who stood by his side in life and grateful to be with him when breath became air in the early hours of December 27th, 2022 at age 94.
Born in Half Island Cove, Nova Scotia, one of 11 children, most of Carl's adult years were spent in Montreal where he met and married Aline Grise (1935-2017), ran his butcher shop, Bastien and Murphy, and retired, first in Ladner and finally in Gibsons, BC. His girls - Kathleen MacKinnon, Sandi, Terri, Linda and Nancy will never forget the sparkle in his eye whenever we visited, that look of love that will continue to be our guiding light. Grandchildren Christina, Amanda, and Ryan, great-grandchildren Mattao and Shelby, along with extended family and friends will also mourn this loss. He was a good man.
A special thank you for the incredible dedication and care from his caregiver Liza Garma, Dr. John Sloan, and the Coastal Home Care nurses.
