August 3, 1927 - July 7, 2023
Andy grew up in Chilliwack and was the oldest of seven siblings. As a young man, he enjoyed playing sports such as lacrosse. He started his career in logging at a young age which he had a passion for until he retired. Andy also enjoyed fishing, hunting, building wooden furniture, and spending time with family. He loved eating salmon and fish head soup and had a healthy routine of going for a walk with his dog every morning, always sporting a nice clean pair of Nike’s. In his later years, Andy developed dementia and became a resident at Shorncliffe, where he actually became one of their longest residents (13 years!). Our family is beyond grateful to the team at Shorncliffe and the wonderful care they provided him.
Andy gained his wings just before noon on July 7, 2023. At which time, he joined several persons who had predeceased him including the love of his life, Pat, his son Norman, two brothers, and three sisters. Andy is survived by his younger sister, Bev; his son, Bud (Wanda); his three daughters, Donna, Hollie, and Pinky (Rick); as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
We will miss you dearly our Dad, our Grandpa, our Brother but we are grateful you are at peace. Now go fly with the eagles and swim with the salmon, Chief. We love you. Take it easy.
At Andy’s request, no service will be held.
