Friday, Feb. 7, volunteers took off to deliver all 1,400 Valentines for healthcare workers.

The Rotary Club of ch’atlich (Sechelt) has done it again!

Despite the recent snowy conditions our club members and dozens of its “Friends of Rotary” worked to design, make and handwrite more than 1,400 heartfelt thank-you cards for the healthcare workers on the Sunshine Coast for Valentine’s Day 2025. We're grateful to every one of our healthcare workers for their wonderful and dedicated service to us and wanted to show our appreciation with cards and chocolates.

This year, we delivered to the Sechelt Hospital, including all the associated services. Plus, home care services, three health units; three long-term care facilities; private and ophthalmology clinics; doctor and dental clinics; mid-wives; and finally, the ambulance and firehall buildings in Sechelt.

A special shout out to the many volunteers plus a big thank you to the organizing committee! We are so sorry if we missed anyone!

Valentine’s Day is not just about flowers and romantic cards, it’s about compassion, respect and honour for our friends and fellow human beings.

Thanks to everyone who wrote cards and invited friends to participate in this worthwhile endeavour. The healthcare workers are so grateful, happy and honoured to receive the cards, and nearly half of the cards went to the hospital.
