The Sunshine Coast, like many communities, is experiencing a growing aging population. As seniors age, their housing and support needs change. The 2023 Social and Housing Needs Assessment has highlighted significant gaps in available housing for seniors, and in response, Cover the Coast is leading a Seniors Housing Working Group to address these needs. They are calling on seniors across the Sunshine Coast to provide input on seniors housing in our community.
To ensure seniors’ voices are at the centre of this conversation, we are hosting four community events aimed at gathering direct input about seniors’ housing needs, preferences and experiences. These events will also provide valuable information on available housing options, current programs, key research findings and the ongoing efforts to improve housing solutions for seniors. If you’re unable to attend an event, we encourage you to share your input through our online or paper survey.

• Gibsons: Tuesday, March 4 at Harmony Hall, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
