The Pender grad class of 2014 would like to thank everyone in the community who donated to their fundraising bottle drive and the hardworking people at GRIPS for all their help. With your support more than $1,100 was raised. Proceeds go towards their grad ceremony and dinner.
The grads will also donate the funds raised to the "Tyler Ellison experience life fund."

The Bargain Barn Thrift Store has a beautiful reproduction antique cabinet for sale by silent auction. Bidding starts at $150 and the auction will run until Feb. 28.
This lovely treasure can be seen at the Bargain Barn during opening hours, Wednesday to Saturday and the volunteers would be glad to answer any questions.
The Pender Harbour hiking club meets every Monday and Wednesday morning for hikes from Sechelt to Egmont. Call Janet at 604-883-2054 for a schedule or more details.
Harbourside Friendships welcomes everyone to join them Feb. 6 at the Pender Harbour community hall. Retired RCMP officer Chuck Bertrand will present his book Constable for Life and his humorous presentation on The Making of a Mountie.
Book signing will take place after the presentation. The morning will start off with coffee at 10:30 a.m. Hot lunch will be served at noon for $10. For more information please call Cathy at 604-883-9760.
The community school has a great line-up of programs starting Feb. 1 with a grant writing workshop with Marg Penney 1 to 4 p.m. at the School of Music. On Feb. 3 check out soup for you as you make and take home tortilla soup and borsht. The class runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Pender Harbour Secondary School foods room with instructor Joi Phillips.
Ladies Night at the shooting range is every Tuesday starting Feb. 4. Carpool to the Sechelt gun range. The fee is $25 per night plus ammunition.
