Christmas time is a time for memorable music. The Pender Harbour Music Society proudly presents A Prairie Christmas with Janelle Nadeau, Sunday, Dec. 11, 2 p.m. at the School of Music. Harpist Janelle Nadeau will bring fond memories of music of her childhood in rural Manitoba. Medieval instrumentalist Joaquin Ayala will join Janelle. Tickets $30 at Pender Harbour Music Society website penderharbourmusic.ca/concert-tickets, Harbour Insurance and Strait Music.

For the past five years, donations to the Spreading Kindness Fundraiser has assisted local youth and families in need throughout the year by supporting the Pender Harbour Community School Youth and Families Support Program. Funds are used to purchase essential supplies, grocery cards and address specific needs of local people. At Christmastime, gift cards, food, toys and clothing are distributed at the PH Food Bank Christmas Hamper Day by Lyn Charlton, the driving force behind Spreading Kindness, and her husband Bill, with help from the local Lions Club. The need has skyrocketed this year along with cost of food. You can donate three ways, through the secure online PH Rotary portal.clubrunner.ca/1875/donate, e-transfer to [email protected] or mail cheque payable to PH Rotary, (Spreading Kindness in memo) Box 40, Garden Bay, BC, V0N1S0. Contact [email protected] for more info. Pender Harbour, let our caring community spirit shine through once again this year.
