Attending Early Years Fair gives parents and their children an opportunity to take part in some fun and games while gathering important information about health, the advantages of developmental screening and to learn about the programs and services offered in the community.

School District No. 46 (SD46) recognizes the importance of the early years and has implemented many programs to provide support to families.

"We usually get hundreds of families that come out. We provide busing from all the different areas on the Sunshine Coast," said an enthusiastic Kirsten Deasey, early learning co-ordinator for SD46.

Next Saturday, April 28 is the day to find out everything a parent, grandparent or caregiver needs to know about education and services on the Sunshine Coast. Chatelech Secondary School in Sechelt will be open for the Early Years Fair between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and every child entering kindergarten in 2012 will receive a backpack.

"We work with each different community, because everyone is unique on the Sunshine Coast and it's nice to meet the different needs of the different communities," said Deasey.
