A resident on the Sunshine Coast has gifted an array of new and gently used sporting equipment to donate to the kids on the Sunshine Coast who are in need. He would be happy to have the equipment in the hands of our community’s young athletes.
There are assorted sizes of skates, helmets and goalie equipment that could be used on the ice or for street hockey. There are also golf clubs, racquets, used life jackets, street hockey nets, ball gloves and soccer boots.
Most families with active kids in sports have all sorts of slightly used gear that would be ideal for another child to use to get into our community sports. KidSport would like to host a “drop off” evening at the Sechelt Band Hall, behind McDonald’s, where parents can bring usable equipment that their young athletes have either outgrown or are finished using. Friday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m., a representative from KidSport will gladly accept these equipment donations.
On Saturday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon, families can come and help themselves to these donated and free items. Anyone who wishes to make a small donation to KidSport is very welcome to. The Sunshine Coast Chapter of KidSport continues to assist needy families on the coast with registration fees for those families struggling to keep their children active in sport on the Coast.
Thank you for helping us give all youth on the Coast an opportunity to participate in a sport of their choice!
