As part of Tim Horton’s national Smile Cookie program, on July 17, Tim Hortons Gibsons presented a cheque for $7,193.90 to the Sunshine Coast Youth Dance Association (SCYDA). Klaus Fuerniss (owner of the Gibsons Tim Hortons), is shown along with some of his employees presenting the cheque to dancers with the SCYDA.

Over the years, donations from the Tim Hortons Gibsons Smile Cookie campaign to the SCYDA has totalled more than $60,000!

These donations have been used to help fund the SCYDA’s yearly production of the Nutcracker, funds which goes towards costuming (new, repairs, cleaning), sets, rehearsal space, theatre rentals, lighting/equipment rentals, and many other items.

In the words of the SCYDA president, “the cookie campaign has been invaluable to our success!”
