It was a glorious winter day at Bricker Cidery for the Wassailing Festival on Jan. 18. The word Wassail comes from the old English phrase “waes hael” meaning “good health” – a yuletide tradition of singing, noise making, and drinking to the health of the apple trees to ensure a good harvest. The day included a scavenger hunt through the orchard, treats from The Shed food truck, an array of tasty ciders and hot chocolate, and live music from Nick Farrer, Bricker’s operations and production manager.
